In the Applied Biophysics and Chemistry Lab, we study the unique physico-chemical properties of water microdroplets and apply the microdroplet chemistry techniques to various biomedical fields.
We are currently focusing on (1) safe, green disinfection of pathogens, including Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and various bacteria using reactive oxygen species generated in the water microdroplet, (2) treatment of cancer and infectious diseases, (3) green synthesis of nanostructures for energy applications, (4) artificial photosynthesis for converting CO2 into fuel, (5) chemical imaging and diagnosis of diseases by combining with the mass spectrometric technique.
