Welcome to the Graduate School of Convergence Science and Technology (GSCST), Seoul National University, a place where advanced science and innovative technology come together. Established in March 2009, GSCST was the first educational and research institution not only in Korea, but in the world to take convergence as its founding philosophy. Since then, with the combination of researchers who are ahead of their time, students who are not afraid to step into the unknown, and staff who seamlessly support them, GSCST has become a mecca for the amalgamation of science and technology. Currently centered on the Departments of Intelligence and Information, Applied Bioengineering, and Molecular Medicine and Biopharmaceutical Sciences, GSCST has also expanded to include contract departments such as the the Department of Mathematical Information Science and the Department of Health Science and Technology.
GSCST strongly believes in pushing boundaries, even if it is uncomfortable and uncertain, as a virtue rather than a source of complacency. Thus, in GSCST, the arts and sciences are no longer separate entities that are not in communication with each other. Instead, there is an active mingling of people, society, the environment, and the interdisciplinary sciences and technologies that link all of them.
